Australia!

We departed Osaka early on Monday morning and began our 24 hour journey to Sydney.  Our first flight was four hours, landing us in Guangzhou, China were we spent a four hour layover people watching.  The international terminal was huge with flights departing minute by minute to every part of the world.

Our next flight departed at 9PM and after a really delicious meal compliments of China Southern Airlines, we slept for nearly seven hours, arriving in Sydney at 10AM.  Our FREE tickets compliments of accumulated air miles got us two wonderful window side seats on an Airbus 330 wide body.  The flight was smooth and comfortable.

Immigration was a snap, all electronic.  We never one spoke with a person.  Our dear friend Jane Garland met us at the arrival gate and whisked us away within an hour of arrival.  Our first stop was in a small Lebanese neighborhood for a coffee and some pastry.  From there we enjoyed a four hour drive down the coast to Batemans Bay, a southeast coastal fishing town that Jane and Louise call home.

Our accommodation for the next two weeks are in Pearl's Cottage, a lovely one bedroom Airbnb rental that the girls own and operate on their home property.
